The first Russian warship carrying Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles, the frigate ‘Admiral Gorshkov,’ began routine combat service on Wednesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin oversaw the ceremony via video link. “This powerful weapon will ensure the defense of Russia against threats and help to protect its interests,” Putin said, adding that no other country has a system “comparable” to the Zircon missiles.
